Ok, so I finally finished my room at least what it's going to be until I get some more money... but it seems to be working out ok!
My roommate is a carpenter, so my clone/veg box got built a lot nicer and more straight than if I would've built it myself... so thanks to him!
It's 4x4x4 and I used foil tape on the outside corners for extra light protection, it has a bathroom fan inside as an exhaust, with a 3 inch hole for passive intake on the opposite side. Some 3 inch ducting to reduce light coming out. (there are little tiny spots of light you can see right at the end, but the box is a good 7 or 8 feet from my flowering area, so I hope it doesnt cause a problem.) Unless you look for them, the room is pitch black and definitely not as much light as the moon.
The room we are using is pretty big, so I wanted to get some reflective material close to my flowering plants... so we went and got 3 boxes from UHaul (they are the "sporting goods" boxes... about 4 feet tall I think) and I cut down one side so they would unfold and covered one side with mylar. flipped every other tab on the bottom out/in and they stand up perfectly making a circle around my plants! Kinda ghetto, but seems to be working good!
I also made my first attempt at cloning yesterday, so hopefully that goes well. I have a daisy cloner that I covered with foil tape to reduce light and I used 6 of the 8 spaces. I numbered them and made a little sheet to see what works best... half of them I cut the stem down the middle, the other I just scraped off the outer layer. 4 of them I used Olivia's gel, one I used rootech gel(the store I ordered a bunch of stuff from sent me a small bottle of that and a small bottle of superthrive for free for my semi-large order I placed), and the last one I used Schultz Take root. So I will monitor those and see what is working the best for me.
I think these are the last clones I am going to take because my brother ordered the seeds and gave me 5 clones and they are nice, but I want some fruitier stuff like some bubblicious and some lemon haze or something along those lines. They gave me what is supposedly LSD and white rhino and Arjen's haze. I am currently reading up on what to go with from here as far as aero or DWC and how to go from seed to planting them in each of those systems as this will be my last soil grow (the ones that are flowering now that I took these clones off of are in soil).
If anyone has any suggestions or comments on how to make my setup better, or where to go from here, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
