Finally, indoors at last!

Ok, so I finally have the confidence, safety, privacy, equipment and motivation. This will be my FIRST time growing anything indoors (Besides spring veggies in February). Before I make any alterations to the room, I would like a LOT of advice!

So I have a closet that is 2ft x 4ft of floor space, with a 7ft ceiling. I also have pictures to show exactly what it looks like, but ignore the doors! I am putting in pre-hung doors, and using weather stripping to prevent light leaks. The whole thing will be sealed besides the Air intake, and outtake.

As you can see I have an AC vent installed in the closet.

The air out take has yet to be determined. My thoughts were to Route the air through ducting, to the attic where it can breathe (The area for fresh air exchange) and YES! I will be using a carbon filter!

My main questions are:

Airflow, how much is good? I have an inline fan and a Cooltube reflector. I usually leave the AC so it doesn't kick on until the temperature goes beyond 65-75F. With a HID would I not need the fan sucking air through the reflector and out the vent, to prevent heat buildup? What is the optimal indoor range of temperaturee? I know you can mimic fall indoors (mid to low 60's) for a more vivid color change before harvest...

Lighting Choices:
HPS: 400W 650W 1000W
MH: 1000W
T5: a Two, four and Eight light system, each 4ft long using 54W bulbs (too stoned to figure out the wattage)

Reflector choices: The Air tube thing, and a Sun System (pricey!) reflector

Space use: One big grow room, or a sub divided space using what I have for mothers/clones

Contaminates: I love fungus, and I am very aware of how mold can ruin anything. Given my conditions, do I need to be concerned with mold?

Lastly, I plan to use utopia haze for its height, as a sativa. Also I strongly believe in "real" organic gardening, and I have a personal supply of compost that would take at least 5 years to use if I had a 20x20 closet. So, no Hydro!

Any feedback or suggestions would help, Sorry if I rambled I went back and deleted half of the not needed BS to make it an easier read.

Oh yeah, the Electric will be 2 outlets in the ceiling, have to run the wiring this week. Its will have a 20amp breaker, so If it were helpful somehow I would feel ok Running a total of 15 amps (120V). The electric HAS to come from the attic, unless I knock out some walls.


Flat white paint? I have heard of specialist paint stores using an additive to increase flat white paints reflectivity, does anyone know what it is and how reflective it is? I do not want to spend $ on good reflective mylar.


So here it is! I will check this post frequently for any advice I can get before I run the electric and ventilation exhaust.

Bump, I need advice so I don't start, and wind up misusing my space, because I only want to set it up once, and have it right the first time.
