final overall yield of (gumby) bubble hash

hello im a new user in this website, i have been searching for an answer i have not seem to find anywhere, so i find the option is to post this and ask:
i have seen that the gumby hash method will produce 15% return of yield.
my question is: is this the overall yield from a few runs/batches or this is the average yield of every run?

i never understood it well when people are saying 5% or 10%, 15% or 20%, do they mean that this is the average yield from a single run or from multiple runs?

i really hope to find an answer to this question. i am a hash lover and im thinking if its worth investing time and money on a few ozs to turn them to a decent quantity of hash that will keep me satisfied for in the long run.

thanks to all god bless and smoke sess.

Thing about bubble hash is you need enough material to run or it’s not really worth all the effort. Sure you can get a 10-15% return but it all depends upon how frosty the material was to begin with. You typically need multiple runs to get all of the goodies. It could take 3 or more runs to get every possible trichome through the bags but the more you beat up the material the more broken up leaf and stem pieces get into the hash. The first two “washes” give the purest end product. After that it’s all downhill; subsequent runs will contain a bit more trash but usually good for making edibles. You can tell the better grade hash by the color; the greener it is the more chlorophyll content it has which can give it kind of a yucky taste.
Bubble bags are worth the investment if you will regularly have an oz or more of trims/popcorn. If you plan to have less than an oz or so just drysift your trim on a screen or make butter/oil. Don’t try to run it fresh frozen; dry it completely and then freeze it. Use homemade ice and ice down the water so it’s super frikkin cold before you add your weed. Use only just enough water to cover the material; you want it to be very thick so it melts slowly. Just loose enough to allow the ice to spin around just a bit. The bags that are all mesh are the best imo. A bucket and a big metal spoon works fine but one of those mini washing machines sure makes hash runs easy breezy.

thanks for the reply, obviuosly the type of starting material and its quality will determine the final product, but what's confusing me is that i see alot of people on forums and vids say they would yield X% resin from this X method, and they never mention to say if this is aimed for a single/first run or that this is the maximum yield % you would get from all of the runs you did combined.

for example if nugs/trim was made into hash through the gumby method and the avg. yield was 13% for example, is this the amount of yield % that i should expect to achieve from a single run or from all the runs?
i am new to this hash making hehe and i really dont mind the time consuming, hard labor of this technique, just wondering if this X% should be calculated for a single run or for overall runs.(regardless the specific method).

No offense, but do you not understand percentages? When people say 10-15% yield it doesn’t matter if you are referring to one run or a thousand consecutive runs, you will yield 10-15% return on the amount of product that you processed.. do you understand? Say someone runs 1 run of 100 grams and the material will yield 15% returns of concentrate... that’s 15 grams... say I do that every day for 10 days... now I’ve run 1000 grams, so 15% would be 150 grams yield... it doesn’t matter how many runs or how much you run... the yield should average to a PERCENTAGE of the total product. 1 small run, many large runs, % is %... I hope you understand. Best of luck!

Hard to say you’ll get x from x amount of material because there’s more trichome heads on the buds than on the sugar trims. Still more if you run top cola nuggets as opposed to lower branch popcorn/larf.
They are likely talking about multiple washes when they say the finish weights but even that’s subjective. Some folks only count the lower bags from a run or 2; others run it til the water looks like a shamrock shake.
This might help pull off a few more headies on the first wash; typically the best of the whole run; quality wise:
Trichomes fall off more easily if the material is fully dried.. Cold makes it work; keep the water as cold. Add ice and stir it up. Wrap the bucket or washer in bubble wrap or foam as an insulator; keeps the ice whole for longer. Use bigAss ice cubes from your freezer. Only use as much water to make it slush at first. Don’t drown that shit...Use all the bags; more filtration is better. Also this:
Wait til the bud is fully ripe!!!!....At harvest trim off the fans and any leaf without trichomes; leave on everything else. Hang dry. Currently taking a break from this very process as of right right now btw......sip puff
When bud is dry enough to jar trim off all the sugar leaf and lower loose popcorn bud. For me the only 6-9 inches of cola bud is cured. The rest is for hash. Get the fully dried run material in a bag or something and freeze for at least 6 hours. Then go do your epic hash run. For technique go find Frenchy cannoli or Matt Rize threads around here or search up bubbleman. Happy hashmaking!! Back to trimming for ne
