Extra long Veg period - should I adjust flowering schedule ?

I have clones that I let veg for approx 2 months under CFL getting very light nutrient feeding. They are about 3 feet tall and fully formed - I just got the money for an HPS 1000W setup and have put them under 12/12 to flower.
I was passed a strict flowering feeding schedule by an acquaintance but it was designed for clones that had only vegged a week or two before going to a flowering schedule.
I am wondering if I can accelerate the flowering schedule - instead of starting from the beginning "day 1" nute formula starting on week 3 or so of the nutrient formula since typically they would be putting on much of this height during the first 3 weeks of the 12/12 schedule.

I don't think it would matter, but I would still use the feeding schedule from that nute maker. If you trust the nutes you use, trust their feeding schedule.

if you have them in bigger pots they might be able to handle a little bit more food but start it out at what the paper says and bump it up from there but make sure its the same strain some cant handle very much food
