Expired nutrients?

So I have a 2-3 year old open bottle of Grow Big. I recently mixed up a solution of Tiger Bloom to a gallon of distilled water and the water took on a greenish hue, while I recently did the same with the Grow Big yet it remained the same color (possible alittle darker looking). Im assuming that means the nutrients are no longer viable but I would like to know whether it should change color or not. I thought it might not turn as greenish as Tiger Bloom because Tiger is supposed to the strongest of the trio :dunce:

I have no idea what it orginally smelled like, I had'nt opened in years since Tuesday. I dont understand why no one can tell me wheither it should appear green or not, Fox Farm is a widely used product here so im kind of dissappointed no one can take the time to answer such a simple question regarding the normal color hues of it. Regardless thank you for trying to help Mother, there is just no way I could even guess what its "fresh outta the box" smell was.

Yeah there have been a few people asking this question about their ferts but the last guy we saw ask specificly about the freshness of Fox Farms' products called the company and that's all they could say about determining freshness.

IMO....If the stored nutrients have been kept in a place where temps stayed constant with no highs and no lows, then most would still be good to fair.....if it's been exposed for temp changes etc, it's probably beyond providing anything worthwhile....

It was originally in a basement that had mold growing in it 2 years after opening it. An was than shipped across the east coast so it most likely is expired. I just want to know if the water I diluted it in should change to a green color like the liquid inside the bottle. The distilled water really hasn't changed any color at all since adding the Grow Big so I'm assuming it is expired but I just want to be certain before I drop 20 dollars on another bottle :-/

man, i have had bad experiences with foxfarm....i would throw that stuff away and get something else. General hydroponics grow/micro/bloom or blueplanet nutrients grow/micro/bloom is the only way to go I believe...just see what you can get the best deal on and go with that. foxfarms nutes always seem to precipitate out of solution...
