Exhaust fan choices

I have the smaller blower 465cmfs and if rocks. One thing about the blowers is that they aren't designed for variable speed. So if you put a reostate on it, it will kill the motor in time. I think that most inline fans, like the one posted you can put a reostate on. So thats a good thing. Also the blower is LOUD! AAAAHHHH kinda loud. I build a box to put mine in and suspended it from the ceiling with bungie cords, that made it quite, but it still hums through the whole house. I am not sure what the inline is like, though i am going to look a vortex today myself so.....

im building an intake and exhaust system and i plan to only have a 8 inch ocelating fan for my exhaust that im going to cut a whole in the door for it to stick out do you think i'll have problems doing this if i make the hole the perfect size for this to work? i'll be using a duct fan for intake around 500 cfms
