Ethos Grapes 4x Varieties

Hello, fellow tokers and growers, and welcome to the start of my new indoor grow!
Please feel welcome to comment with any questions, or advice, experiences with these strains or the gear, training, or just drop a friendly hello! This is my third grow, and my first run doing Ethos genetics, and going to be my first attempt at cloning.

Going with 4 out of 6 from a Grape Multi-Pack
-Grape Diamonds [Member Berry (Grape Diamonds cut) x Member Berry (Grapefruit cut)]
-Grape Punch [Mendo Purps x Purple Sunset]
-Marion Berry [Peach Rings x Peach Ringz]
-Cotton Candy Grapes [Purple Majik/Quattro Kush x Mandarin Cookies]

Fall-backs if anything fails in early veg
-Planet of the Grapes [Grape Diamonds x ChemD/I95]
-10th Planet [Planet of the Grapes x "Pluto" cut Quattro Kush]

Grow Methods
Germ -Thaw>Soak>Wet Paper Towel in Plastic Container>Jiffy Pellet (Began Thaw on 7/7, Planted in Jiffy Pellet after all 4 tails had emerged @12AM 7/10)

-Drain-to-waste/trap totes for EC testing & easy disposal
-Mainline structure train and Trellis netting
-Up-Pot to 1/2G Coir/Perlite Fabric; Finish in 5G Coir/Perlite Fabric
-Try to clone each initial topping with Clonex rooting gel and seed trays

I try to post at least weekly and more if anything eventful happens, and respond to posts any time throughout the week.
I appreciate all readers, I'm glad it's able to make your day better, and would be thrilled if it helps even one person with their own grow. I also appreciate the patience and wisdom of the more experienced growers, I would not be able to produce the quality of medicine I do without your help and kindness. Other thanks to the breeders for refining their craft so well, and making this plant so much better and more pleasant to consume over the years. And the biggest thanks I have will always be for those who advocated for decades over our rights to use this plant freely, and those who still remain unjustly incarcerated; thank you all for fighting for our freedom and this plants liberation.
It's very fulfilling just to be a small part of the cannabis cultivation community; what feels to me like one of the best communities on planet Earth.

July 13

All the seeds germinated well, and after about 36hrs in the Jiffy pellets they all started to show signs of emergence. By 8PM yesterday, all had fully unfolded their cotyledons and shed their shells. Now they're all standing evenly and looking healthy. I'm excited to get them into 1/2gal's soon

Things have gone fairly well this week, although there was a bump in the road. Everyone's first nodes came in fast and full, and by the time I had coir buffered and was ready to up-pot, I didn't realize the taproots on 3 out of 4 of the pellets had grown enough to fully emerge from the pellets and hang out by a few inches. I was fortunate enough that watering them enough kept them moist enough to keep growing and not dry out in that critical time, but it wasn't as easy-going transfer into the 1/2 gallon pots as it should have been. Growth has continued well, but the only seedling that looks completely unaffected is the one whose taproot wasn't exposed by much at all. Two out of the three with long taproots started folding at the leaves into a kind of taco, and the other showed the mildest bit of yellow fade on the leaves, so I know the transition wasn't perfectly smooth for her either. Still, everything is alive, moved into 1/2g's, in the Veg tent now, and hopefully not so stressed out that they hermie on me. This may influence my decision to mainline train, as I'm not sure if they could handle the additional stress of multiple toppings. Something to ponder on and keep me up at night for the next few days, I suppose.

I still have them on 24hrs of light, and I just switched them to the blurples in the tent last night. When they were in the closet under the HPS, temps were running around 78*F, %50RH, now that they're in the tent it's looking like a few degrees cooler, around 74.5*F, and still around %50RH.

I should have mentioned I already started adding nutrients a few days previously, whenever their first leaves were emerging I began with a dilution of seedling nutes and by the time their second node came in they were getting undiluted seedling nutrition. I don't mix full doses of label-recipe, I've read that it's a bit strong of a suggestion from General Hydro; instead I followed this guy's suggestions: https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/mixnutes/

Well, these girls have definitely grown since I posted last.
A couple of events since last week;
-Up-potting to 5 gal pots
-First topping in mainline structure training
-Attempt at clones
-New heavy duty opaque totes (not pictured)

Thanks eb! I'm hoping the clones do okay, I want to get good enough to mother a Blueberry Muffin cultivar for a while and I've only got two shots with it, so I'm going to try cloning some others first.
Another change I forgot to mention, they are on 18/6 light now and have been for about 8 days now

These girls are ready for their second topping, I just haven't had the time to do it but I'll get to it later tonight.
Not sure how the clones are doing, as it's still something totally new to me. The tips of most have turned a bit, and I'm not positive, but it looks like one of them is showing pre-flower pistils.... I cut one of clones' fingers to see how much that would "help", but it's health has since taken a turn, it's leaves (or whats left of them) are very sad looking, and I wondered if it wasn't causing enough stress to cause those pre-flowers to show. (Again, not really sure). Also, I started giving diluted nutes yesterday, in case they had success rooting, I'll just have to see in a few days if they made any roots, I guess.

Aug 26

It's been a while but I'm back! Haven't posted on RIU in a bit, but the girls have still been growing.
Cloning seems to have been a success! I need to get the other 3 transferred tomorrow, but they all seem to be doing well enough, and 2 out of 4 of them absolutely *shot up*! I've even stopped giving them any foliar sprays, and letting them get used to the dryer atmosphere.
Speaking of shot up, it's all that CC Grapes has done. I don't know what Ethos sprinkled in her genetics, but oh my. I'm worried she might be too vigorous for me to handle much longer. I've put some stakes in her pot to spread her out before she goes under a trellis net and into bloom, but it's not helping enough. I think I might employ yo-yo's to weigh her down.
The only thing keeping them from going in to bloom now is my other tent doesn't quite have the room for them yet. In about another week, and hopefully by the next time I update this journal, they'll be under the full spectrum lights transitioning to bloom.

Big changes once again for these Ethos girls.
I've moved enough plants out of the way in my bloom tent that I had enough room for these Ethos girls, and switched them over to transition nutes. After CC Grapes grew to a height of about 5.5 feet, I tied her down with shoe strings to some dumbbells and spread her out wide. She and another of them (Grape Punch, I think?) are already starting to show sex. I'll hold off switching to Early Bloom nutes until they've all shown significant expression. I'll get pics of CC Grapes posted shortly.

The clones are looking great, seeing continual growth and they look more comfortable now that they have the tent to themselves, and now have room to grow in their final pots they were moved into a few days ago. They're still on Early Veg nutes, and probably won't move off that for a little while. Grape Diamonds (the one that I cut the fingers short on) isn't nearly as big as the others, but besides being cut, she was also getting the most wind thrown at her from the intake fans. Still, she's growing and looking healthy enough that I'll keep her going, just may get less topping than the others.

After taking the last of my blooming plants out tonight, I'll get room for some much-needed training for the rest of these Ethos girls, who are all showing signs of feminine sex now and soon to be moving on to an Early Bloom phase 1 nutrition cycle.
Temps and RH have been pretty dialed in, with only a small drop in temp happening at lights-off and RH staying within a few percent of 52-55; trying to keep VPD (vapor pressure deficit) between 0.8 and 1.0 in the Veg tent, and 1.2 to 1.4 in the Bloom tent.
Leaves are looking very healthy and are in need of some tending. I'll get the most of that done in the next day or two, along with training.
Clones are growing vigorously and are going to need topped and tended within the next day as well.

Big differences this week with the Ethos genetics I'm running. I've tried dialing in nutrition a little better and fertigating a lot less often; from %100 of the time in my last runs (and this Ethos run; up till Bloom) to about %33; or once every three times, with a second nutrition feeding if they look sad at all until they look happy again. So far this is saving me so much time, and money; and the plants don't show any signs of being less happy, maybe even signs of being happier than plants from before. They've also all been tied and trained with shoe-string tied to jugs of water on the floor of the tent. Surprisingly effective for bottom dollar training.

Everything in the Bloom tent is budding up nicely, already a lot of hairy bud sites and I'm only about 10 days into Bloom, leaves looking and feeling very healthy. I got worried about CC Grapes getting tall on me, but her secondaries finally stopped stretching on me and she looks happy where she's at, even if there was some dominance on a few colas.
Stem rubs smelled different from every girl too. CC Grapes actually had a mild tease of cotton candy maybe, it was sugary sweet anyway. Grape Punch has some exotic berry notes in the background already, which impressed me enough that I might clone it again. Grape Diamonds and Marion Berry were both that sharp, sour smell with Diamonds coming off a little sweeter so far; but it's still very early to tell with all these girls.

Clones are taking off after their first topping, almost ready for the second (and final) topping. Their lowest growth, on the leaves that were already beat up from when they were just cuttings still, have started to yellow and look a little ugly, but they're almost ready to get trimmed away at this point anyway. No other signs of problems I've noticed with them and I'm going to flip them a little earlier than I have my other girls.

These Ethos girls are growing great and smelling fabulous!!!

Grape Diamonds has come to life with a bright and loud grape smell, almost like a grape Kool Aid or something, I can't wait for it to develop some more terps for me to sniff on!

Grape Punch though....WOW!! She is stealing the show with some absolutely incredible smells of her namesake -- emphasis on the "Punchy" smells!! She is stacking up FAT cola's too, I'm almost positive she'll end up being the densest buds of the group.

Cotton Candy Grapes is looking beautiful, she's stacking bud sites up all over the place and the spread out training I gave her and Diamonds seem to be working really well, she got tall secondary shoots within days and is blooming flower just allll over her nodes. She's also the only girl so far to show coloration, and her buds are going to end up some kinda funky, pretty colors I hope. So far the developing bract looks purplish, where every other girl is the normal greens. The clone on CCG got big enough in the Veg tent that I decided not to top and to just put her in Bloom, so she's getting Transition nutes as of today until she shows me some pistils here soon.

Marion Berry hasn't gotten her yummy smells yet, she still smells just kinda sharp and sour, somewhat similar to dillweed, stem rubs smell almost like a pickle She does have good and plentiful bud sites though, and I'm excited to compare her to her sisters. I was especially excited to grow this genetic because I've never tried any "Peach" varieties, but I'm not sure this "Peach Rings x Peach Ringz" is going to turn out "peachy", since the breeder named them "Marion Berry"...so that's left me very eager to find out!

The clones (other than CCG) all got a final topping, with Diamonds and Punch getting topped a node lower than Marion Berry because Marion hasn't tried stretching on me in Bloom like the other girls. I'm hoping to manage height a little better during the clone run of these girls.

Hi all, hope everyone is well medicated
I'm super excited to be smoking on these grape varieties from Ethos!!
I got to smoke on a little of the Grape Diamonds the other week, it was just some larf that wasn't going to turn out more than. a gram so I went ahead and took it while clearing up room for the lower canopy. About a week of drying, no cure, and that premature little gram smoked like some fire mids! Since then, I've been excited to get them in a ripen schedule and prepare to harvest around the end of October, or within a week of that
As for the Veg tent, clones are looking healthy. I had to drop Grape Diamonds clone to to floor after she shot up about a foot or so. To my surprise, all of them are showing stigmas even though they are still under 18hr light schedule. They aren't autoflowers, and they are still getting Late Veg nutrition so I don't understand exactly why they are maturing like this but this is my first try at clones. I guess we'll see soon enough.
