please help I'm relying on a heavy harvest:hump::idea:
ok this is what I'm thinking I have a space thats 8"x3".
I am using a light rail 3.5 thats 6"with a 600hps and having the light 12inches away with the delay at 1 minute at each end
but Im worried that this wont be enough lumens to get a heavy harvest:weed:would I get better results using 2x600watt static?

++rep for anyone that replies

A 600 12 inches away is pretty close, you must have a cool tube or amazing temperature control. As long as you keep temps right you will yield more with another 600 of course. It'll be a bitch though to keep the temps right. Have you considered cfl hangers for any slightly dull spots? How old are your plants?

yep you would think that it would get hot under there. but I tested it today and where it stops for a min it only creeps up to 20 centigrade and buy the time the light gets to the other end the temp goes down to 18c. the outside temp is only 6c brrrrr.

my plants are 4week old clones about 12 inch tall.

the light rail is is 6" so that leaves about 1" edge at each end.

put 16 plants under that 600 dude u will yeild heavy if done right
well I got like 40 plants all under the light rail at the moment but Im planning to expand an have the same light rail opposite and put 20 plants under each light....do that make sense

I was thinking of growing them about 3" :weed: so to hopefully average 2ounce a plant.:joint:

If I were you i'd get a couple of mixed spectrum cfl hangers. This would get light to any lower areas. You have ample light already trust. Blue light is very beneficial during all stages of growth and would compliment your existing 600 hps. Therefore some blue or mixed spectrum hangers are your best bet in my opinion if you are dead set on more lumens. Most would argue that you dont need. More is not always better. What nutrient programme are you running? Lets see some pictures too. I'm teased to see these plants now.

a 600 watter in that area will still give good results... a 600 watter is ideal for 6 by 6 area. a 1k is 8 by 8... 2 600 watters will give you a better yield, so if you got the money for the extra bulb, and can keep temps cool go for it:weed:

The cost of electric is my problem at the moment and I've spent alot of money to get this up and going:leaf:

I'm waiting on a crop 4-5 weeks left then I'll get some cash so I can buy more electric and put these 40 clones into flower

These are the mums ghs trainwreck and big bang at about 3 weeks 12/12 I think:eyesmoke:
I was hoping for better results with the big bang but I do admire the christmas tree shape of them. I think I'll tie the big bang clones over so the side branches get more light and hopefully more bud sites

How about a pic what method did you use lst, topping, etc, etc. with everything you mentioned let them veg a bit longer if you want more of a yield your lighting sounds good just watch so you dont burn those plants
EDIT: sorry didnt see the pics lol a bit stoned looks great you should get what you expect.

since you have a light mover get a 1000k watt and increase yoour fan cfm yeah it might be a initial cost now but the better canopy penetration will pay off. have you added Co2?

hi redi jedi 420,

yeh I'm thinking about buying some 1000 watters I want to grow them quite big I think that would have definatly better results.

It looks like I'm gonna have to keep the 40 clones under the 1 600 until I can get some more money in 4-5 weeks then I'll split them in half under two light rails and then start to flower.

I have a 8"ruck fan and rhino can filter, I think I got a good deal on ebay and was supprised how big they were. for intake a 4" plus you can feel the air being sucked in under the door.

when the fan was turned up full it sounded like a airplane going of so I'm tinking off moving the fan into the attic to cut the noise reaching neighbours

I'm getting a camera today so I'll post some pics of the new setup which is still being constructed tommorow

when these 40 clones have finiched flower I'll probably get a fan/temp controller and add some c02

I got new pics of the setup if anyone's still interesested in this topic i'll post them up
i wanna see.... back to your fan i bought a max fan for that exact reason its sooooo quiet....someone said on here a while back to build a box around your fan then suspend the box in the air with bungee cords and the vibrations will be cut down alot...i have never tried it but they said it sounds good.
