embarking on a mystical journey

Quick question, is there any way that I can grow a really good indoor crop but only visit it once a week? If so, how? I'm mainly concerned with watering.

Hydro is the only way this is possible at all, and only after you get a good reliable system and learn it and work the kinks out.

You can't expect maximum growth this way since you won't be able to keep the light down low on the canopy where it's optimal, they'd grow into the light and get burned in a weeks time if you did keep it low, but once you figure it all out and balance stretching vs light heigh and everything else it should work with only weekly visits.

Maybe you should consider a closed circuit camera or secured internet camera on it, with water level and meters visible by camera as well as the vegetation itself so at least you can see if there's an obvious problem remotely without having to visit in person. Then you could just check in on them that way between weekly visits.

yes.

you can add vermiculite to the soil and it will retain water for weekly waterings. or you can get MG moisture control it already has vermiculite in it, understand this is not the type of soil cannabis prefers but the good thing about cannabis is it's a weed and is probably the easiest thing to grow ever.

however you may have issues if you can only visit your crop once a week.

a lot of bad can happen in a week... the real issue i see is what do you do the first few weeks of flowering... say you get a couple males in there and don't detect them in time and they spray all your other plants.

oops, now that delicious dankness you would have harvested is seeded up mids.

Jesus that wouldn't work, not even with miracles and prayers.

The only soil grow that can go a week is if you tore the floor up and planted directly in the ground under the house. Many can't go more than a day or two max when in full flower.

Drip systems can use soil... But I would still consider that hydro.

Id say it would be ok for vegging. Like others said have some problems during flower. They sure can drink alot in 1-2 days. A wick system would be ok for a whole grow. Thats sort of a hydro/soil hybrid depending on grow medium. You can make a wick set up real cheap with scraps even. Good luck!
