electricity on a 600w bulb????

hi, just a quick question on electricity costs

my buddy has a 600w hps and is irritatin me with his crying lol.... he says hes got his light on 16/8 and he is using £3.50 a day in electricity?

i think thats extremely dear myself. ?? anyone have any info on this??

i run a 400 and 600 12 hours a day.......2 ruck fans 24/7.............2 x 9 inch fans,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a 250 cfl 12 hours a day........my pc , tv, srtereo, cooker etc for around 3 squid per day......

here's an example.......(this is us dollar)

Power company charges .10 cents a killowatt hr. (estimate, could be a little more or less, mine is .7 cents a kwh)

1 killowatt= 1000 watts

600 watts= a little over 1/2 a killowatt which equals roughly .6 cents an hour....

take .6 cents and multiply it by how many hours it's on a day and there ya go....

ex: 600 watt light on for 12 hrs a day= .6 cents x 12= .72 cents a day..... It would only cost $1.44 if he ran it 24 hrs a day....

I don't know about. Eu power, but a 600w is. Not much power, don't care if he ran it 24/7, unless he has a messed up ballist,

Well in the UK 1kwh is around 15 pence so yeah...
