yo, need some help if someone can.

Building my COB rig.

Using a fused AC power switch. and Into a Sonoff 4ChanPro. Coming off the switch, Is a Line, Neutral, and ground. The Sonoff only has Line and neutral inputs. Do i Pig tail the ground off the switch, into the Sonoff OUTPUT with the driver?

Im using 2 HLG-185H-C1400B

So, brings me to another question.

I want both drivers to dim at the same time, using 1 pot.

2pc 3500K (driver1)
2pc 4000K (driver2)

do I even need to hook up the Pots yet?

What Pot do i use for this?

I would just keep a direct connection on the ground circuit-it shouldn't be switched. It's simple to dim both drivers-just connect the same color wires from each driver together and then use at least a 50k pot. I use one of the Rapidled pots on mine.

not really sure what you mean.

I suppose your saying, Take the ground coming from the switch, and hook it to the Driver, ( insert ground WITH Ground wire from Driver, Into the OUTPUT of the Sonoff?

No...Take ground from driver and directly solder to ground from power switch.Ground is outside the sonoff.
Regarding dimming,take 2pcs of 3way wago, than 2 dim+ from 2 drivers goes into 1 wago,2 dim- from 2 drivers goes into other wago.Than take 2 piece of wire( 1 for each wago): 1 wire will be common dim +, and the other will be common dim-.Connect dimming cable to a 50k pot and you are fine.It is harder to explain but is very simple.

OK, im under the impression this is just simply a distribution block with timers.

I cant find anything on utube. its all annoying music, or different language. But they all seem to be pigtailing wires of neutral into all channels.

No instructions on this thing.

You can go straight to the drivers ground with the switch ground the sonoff doesnt need or require the ground.

ok, so just so i have this right,

Blue ( HLG-neutral) goes into the Common ( middle ) and the Line ( live = Brown) into the No? and ground to ground, ?

NO on the relay stands for Normally open and the NC stands for Normally closed. Thats how types of switches are named. Normally open just means the circuit is off when the relay is off and normally Closed means the switch is on when it is off ( no power going to the relay. The sonoff relays are for Line only Do Not hook the neutral into the sonoff relay ports. Should only be one neutral hooked to the sonoff on the far left that has two inputs. Neutrals would be the same as the grounds go from the switch to the drivers bypassing the sonoff except for the one input. NO or Normally open is how most switches work so I am guessing you want to hook the line from the drivers to the NO ports on the sonoff.

oooooook, I think I got it now.

so really, your saying, the ONLY wire from the Driver, will be the LINE, or HLG Brown, INTO the NO Port. Then, Hook up ground from power switch, to ground of driver, and Neutral Of the Power switch, to neutral of driver.

Now, that will allow me to turn on/off the driver with the sonoff.

so, its just like the old 2 post switch, Line in/line out..

Thanks a ton man, for taking your time to break that down.. Makes total sense now..

ok, so i think i have that all settled.

Now, Im going to be using a 300V AC multi-meter.

This will meter the REAL overall usage, AC side.

So, I have to take the Live and Ground to the meter, very first. Then from the Meter, to the sonoff.

Ugg, have to order more wagos. Add 2 days to the build, lol..

4 luminus cxm 22 gen 3 cobs.

Any benefit of using 2 HLG-185H-C1400B instead of 1?

with 1, I max out at what, like 40watts each cob @780ma, 160 watts total. Max is 110watts each is able to take, using 100% of the driver.
with 2, I max out at 74 watts, @1400ma 298watts total, using 74% of the driver

Is this a no-brainer to use both?

Think your calculations are wrong you’re running the cobs at the same current you will have the same wattage with one or two of those drivers. Your wanting to do constant voltage drivers to do what you want

It is best to run the drivers in the 90% range as they are more efficient. Going to have trouble with start up trying to dim a 1400mA driver to 780mA to get the cobs into voltage range. Running a HLG-120H-1400B for two cobs and running a HLG-320H-1400B for 4 cobs make for better use of the drivers full power.

Thanks for your input Java.

Long story short, In a rush, and unfortunately, cost vs size got me. I can pay the same price for the 185H as the 120h, more watts, haaaaaaaaaaaa,,,

I have great cooling, and can run these at 75 watts, or about 75% of its max per cob.

week and a half later, still not done, lol, could of gotten 1 from china and it wouldnt of mattered,lol..

so, what effect will I see from this set-up by not utilizing the full driver cap?

2 cobs per 185H-C1400,, running at 1400 uses 150 watts, or 75% of the driver
