Electric advice needed

I have 5 pendant light fittings and i want to wire them all into a plug:!:.
The pendants are for the ceiling so have no plugs on.

Can i wire them into a junction box and in turn wire the JB into a plug:?:
If yes what size fuse is needed in the plug please:?:

Oh i should say im in the UK :eyesmoke:

Yes you should be able to wire them all together and then from the J-box plug it in, however you do not specify lamp wattage, 20a breaker at 120v = 2400w 80% demand 1920w so I would make sure you dont have more than that on your one breaker.

I dont know exctly UK standards though.

find out if there any other receptacles or light fixtures on that circuit that is feeding the junction box. One way to do this is figure out which breaker is feeding the j-box and see if there is anything else in the area or in the house that is not working.

You may also get a tester, the beeping kind that detect current through the electrical sheathing. turn off suspected breaker and test wire going into j-box until you get the right breaker. Unless your service panel is labeled in which case you are lucky.

Then add up all the watts divide by the volts by 110 to get amps. Then like the gentleman said before don't exceed 80% of the circuit amperage capacity.

If all is well then you can wire it straight from the j-box to the switch, then from the switch to your light fixture. Good Luck.:joint:

I think you may have me all wrong mate.

I bought these 5 pendant lightd,junstion box and electrical wire so i caould hang the 5 fittings in my growdrobe all connected to a juncion box that is pluged in with a 13 amp plug

If this doesnt make sence im still stonned so sorry bongsmilie
