I am starting my first Ebb-n-Flow grow in the next upcoming days that I have set up in my closet (approx. around 50-60 sq ft) . I have used a deep water culture before, but this will be my first ebb n flow and i am looking for a little help along the way.
Here is a mock-up drawing i did of my system, just so you can get an idea. I have a 17-gallon basin sitting on top of a 18-gallon reservoir (easy pumping and easy draining). For the growing media, I filled the basin with grow rocks, and am planing on just sticking the clones directly into that (no net baskets, etc.). Although it allows for more water, the entire system probably only uses about 12-15 gallons of water. Basically all there is to the system, pretty simple (and inexpensive!).
Nutes-
I have FloraGro, FloraBloom, and FloraMicro for my beginning nutes. It is what the manager at the local hydro store told me would best sit my situation. Does this sound ok?
Plants-
Living in California, we had the amazing ability to walk into our local "Pharmacy" and pick out what kind of clones we want to get. I am looking to get 8 plants in this system and i believe it will fit perfectly. I am thinking about getting some straight purple, with the winter months coming up, it should be tasty! Any suggestions on what type of clones i should keep and eye out for?
Lighting-
Right now i have a SunBlaze 44 T5 High Output Floro light (4 ft. long, with 4 bulbs), and a small, 4 ft, shop light with 2 Phillips Floros that i plan on putting under the plants once they are tall enough. I plan on using these light for the veggitation process, running them on a 12/12 schedule until the flowering process begins. Does this sound correct?
At the beginning of the the flowering cycle, I am thinking i need to switch to a HPS lighting system, but dont know how big to get.
Please feel free to send me some info and help on this subject, lighting is on of my biggest worries. (Didnt work out so well with the DWC)
