Ebb & Flow Question

I'm using a 4' X 2' tray under 4' T8 floros for my vegetative growth. I have my plants in 4" rockwool cubes. Can I use the cubes alone until I transfer to my flower setup? Do I need to put them in pots? I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I need to be able to easily transfer them.

the first time i grew i went from 4x2 rock wool straight into dirt did not have a problem. happy growing
