Ebb & flow: attn mr funct

haha i know you have a lot of knowledge on this subject so i thought id ask you directly. i am about to start a SOG setup with a 3 x 3 flood and drain table. just a couple of questions:
1. How many gallons are necessary for this size table?
2. What is the appropriate flooding cycle for new clones?
3. does this cycle change as the plants mature?
4. i am using hydrotons as my medium...do these have to use net pots, or are standard pots with holes in the bottom (like the ones u use) sufficient?

If you are going to ask someone specific at least get the name right, its FUCT.
1. 25 gallon would suffice.
2. You don't flood clones until they have rooted and you then put them in the flood and drain system.
3. see the answer to #2.
4. Hydroton will drain, they net pots are not that expensive, its your choice. VV

oops...well since i got your response, the afore mentioned clones are indeed rooted and ready to begin the ebb and flow cylce. I understand that that the cycles vary according to plant size. So my question is for essentially new plants how should I go about the watering. I have heard a variety of opinions, the majority saying I should flood the tables 4-5 times a day for 15 minutes. If you would give me your two cents I would appreciate it. thanks!

You can start them in rock wool cubes and then when they are ready to flower just put the rock wool cubes in the bed of hydrotons.

That sounds right for hyrotron, only during lights on. The rule I saw was at least two hours before lights out, many folks don't follow this and still get good results. Just pay attention to what your plants and nutes are telling you, you got this far with them, you should be fine. VV
