Easy Ballast Question

I know some fluorescent-light ballasts will run multiple lamps, but that's not true for MH or HPS lights, right? I mean, you can't buy some sort of ballast that could drive two MH/MPS lights . . . right?

PS: I have a homemade MH ballast in the family. How tough are they to make?

You can buy a ballast kit and just solder up the parts (or use wire nuts) for about 50 odd bucks. Instructions included - HPS or MH. Pretty simple, there's only about 3 or 4 parts.

ballasts are very specific on what they can and can't drive...too the best of my knowlede you can't get an HID ballast that runs more than one lamp....fluorescent ballasts are more flexible, the types and numbers of lamps they can drive are listed on the ballast
