Easiest way to determine sex with limited space ?

wonder what some of your methods are for doing this with limited space ? I have a couple of suspect beans I popped and before putting a load of time and I puts into them. No room in the flower chamber.

Thats a tuffy for fem runners like us on limited space and/or plant count. 12/12 from seed? Maybe start em in solo cups to not eat up space in the flower room. As soon as you see sex, keep/discard what you want and throw em in bigger pots in the veg room. Might take an extra week to get them back into veg but it wont be wasted effort/space/energy/nutes/soil etc on males.

I hate revegging but sometimes it has to be done.

I have the three pre teens "topped at 4th leaf" on 24/0 of 5k LED. I'm a couple of weeks away from chopping a test run and one or two of the three will go in. All three are transplanted from solos to 1 gal dirt pot transplanters. Before I up pot to 3gal pots I need to figure out what one two I want to run.

I put the small veg LEDs on a timer and with 12/12 them for awhile making sure to loupe them for any signs of sex. I think this is going to be my best shot going forward. Long ago in a different time I had all the space in the world lol.

I would move the light up a bit so they stretch. Then top it, taking the stretched topping and put it in a glass of water under 12/12 CFL.

I have the same dilemma as you, except im currently just running 1-2x3 cab. this run i went from solo's to 1 gallon pots of coco..they showed pre flowers @around 25 days veg..discarded male(s) and transplanted the females into 3 gals.. i think thats the best, least involved method for reg seeds... ive researched this subject before with little success. would love a better way if you come across one!

How long are you vegging for?


Edit** i topped mine aswell, so i think 25 days is early for preflowers. ppl say they will usually see preflowers around 30 days *without* topping, topping will prolong the showing of preflowers.

Good stuff and I just may let them run in the 1gal until they show like you said. I normally veg between 4-7 weeks depending if I scrog or not.

i never usually veg more than 1 month.. this was actually the first time i was able to sex all my plants in veg. last few runs i ran in 1.7 gal hempy's so as not to waste much media & nutes on the boys i couldnt see until after the flip to 12/12.. moving forward im just gonna sex them in veg in 1 gal pots, seems easier even if it takes an extra week or so.

Edit* i also veg and flower with 3500k cob's, dont know if the color temp has an effect on the timing of preflowers in veg
