I have two plants, that are two months old and are two foot tall. One plant has sighns of being female. The other one is showing no sign of male or female. I am growing indoors. Do I have too wait till full grown to tell about the 2nd plant or is that a warning that it is male?

I'm a newbie but Ive been around it a long time and I happen to know that a plant can be sexed by looking very closely at the stem right at the center of 2 branches and there are very small hairs if you will. whether or not those hairs cross or don't cross determines the sex. Sad part is I cant remember witch is witch. So basically I am no help, but now you know what questions to ask. And maybe we will both find out and this time writ it down.

if you want to know you can change your light schedule to 12/12 and it will force them to show sex from there you can keep flowering or go back to veggie mode. from where your at now if your plants are over 2 ft tall when you flower they will probably finish over 4 ft tall. in flowering the height of the plant can double even triple in height so remember that so you dont run out of room and have to take them outside like i had to do. another way to tell sex is wait to see preflowers which is what you see on your one plant thats showed sex. it showed sex cuz it reached maturity

Don't only go on the stem,The only way of truely sexing a plant is to flower it or them if there 2 ft now then i would advice that you flower now because a 2 ft plant will end up been around 4 and harf foot.Cannabis during the first 3 weeks of flowering will bang on width and height. My advice would be to get the lights about 6 ince of the tops of the plants this way it will holt the height but give you nice tight internodes intern giveing you a bigger yeild.I f it is a sativa lke arjon's ultra haze #1 then you could be in for some bad news because these strains just don't stop in height. What i am trying to say is always keep the lights close to the tops and flower at just under 1 ft tall this way the plant recives max light giveing you a nice yeild.

yeah he could do it that way......or just take a cutting and put it under 12/12 instead of forcing it to flower then reverting it and screwing up the growth rate

male plants always show sex before females so i would like to think you have another female if one is showing female signs already.
good luck.

Seems like you are going through the same exact thing I am.. one of my plants is 29 inches, the other 37 in. the 29in. plant has pistils shooting out all over the place and just starting to explode since i introduced her to foxfarm nutes, a 400 watt HPS, a 5 gallon bucket and a 12/12 light shcedule. They have been flwering for a total of 6 days now, interrupted though since i had to go out of town and did not have a correct timer so they were flowering for 4 days, vegged for 3 and they have been back on a flowering schedule for 2 days now...

My point is my 37in plant has yet to develop pistils coming out from the preflower, I can bet my life on it that she is a female, but still no pistils.. I have seen many other people in our situation and the best thing to do is just put it into flowering and see whatcha got after 2 weeks, but make sure you check on them regularly jsut in case it IS MALE so you can snatch that bitch outta their before he can nut all over your girl. Hope I could shed some light, goodluck and happy growing. :leaf:

Most likely you will have another female.
While males usually show sex before females, it is not always the case.
I have had males show sex after the females did.
It has to do with the genes, recessive genes take longer to show.
