Early pull

I have an outdoor grow in upstate NY that I started in late June. They are sweet skunk sativas that started to veg in late August. The problem is they are growing by a friends cabin who just sold it and is moving out next weekend. If I don't get them before than I probably won't be able to get them. What is the effect of cutting them early as they look like they have 2 to 3 weeks to go.

they will have more of a sativa effect and will produce an up type high that isnt favorable to some people. The bud will probably still turn out alright but it will look premature and other educated smokers will be able to tell.

Little confused. You said you started them late June and they started to veg in late August. I'm guessing typo and you meant to say they started to flower in late August? In that case, you are 6-7 weeks in flower, right?

If you are pretty much certainnthat after next weekend you won't have access to the property again, you might as well wait until next weekend and pull them. That would make them about 7-8 weeks into flower. Immature bud is better than no bud.

I grow mostly indicas and indica dominant hybrids and there have been times when a storm or high winds came through and a branch or two got broken off. After 6 weeks, with 8-9 week strains, it will still get you high. I've noticed the smell and taste isn't quite there yet and the buzz is different. Much less potent too. I've had branches break off after 5 weeks in flower and caught a buzz depending on the strain.

Any pics by chance? That will help estimate how far along it is.

I'd say about 2/3 of growers, for various reasons, pick their buds too early anyway.
