Early Havesting

So This summer I am wanting to grow some marijuana In my back yard garden. The only problem is that I got to go back to school sept 1st. I am just wondering if I should even bother growing if I can't harvest before early september.

Is there a strain out there that Is a great early finisher that finishes early sept? (preferably small Indica)

Is there techiques to growing so they are ready earlier? (ie planting early...)

I'm a noob when it comes to outdoors so any suggestions would help.


Also, would it be better if i came back from school for Thanksgiving (Canadians = early october)

check out autoflowers! they are done in two months and can produce an ounce per plant. The Attitude has a bunch of different kinds.

i grew Auto Ak-47 for my first grow and they are really hearty plants. they took my noob abuse quite well haha.

Purple Power(not an autoflower) is supposed to be ready pretty early tho. im trying it this summer. any regular strain with the word "early" in it would probably be your best bet.

Ya I've looked into autostrains but the problem is I don't want to order online, I'd rather go downtown Toronto and buy them first hand... Unfortunatly all the Toronto seed banks don't offer autoflower seeds...Dammit!

Dude go to the ontario seedbank and you'll find some there, Its a trip but they got a huge selection or will order it for you. Peace.

It can be done, but it's a lot of work.
Veg your girls until the last week of June. That week you need to start putting them in a dark place for 12 hours a day, shed, garage or put a trash can over them to keep them in the dark for 12 hours a day (i.e. off at 7:00am and back on at 7:00pm). Do this until the last week of Aug (8-9 weeks), harvest then, dry your buds for a week, and off to school by Sept 1st with a big bag of weed!

Haha thanks for the tip, I might do that or I might actually get a plant that can be harvested mid october. Since I'm in canada our thanksgiving is Oct 7 (I think) so it will be perfect. I'll just have to make my sister/mother to water them (I really hope they dont screw up).

I'm thinking of going with Mango from KC Brains at Sacred Seeds downtown. Says the flowering is end of sept- mid oct.... does this sound good?

ya man just harvest when you come home for thanksgiving if you can't get an autoflower, I'll probably be harvesting after thanksgiving

I'm probably going to go to sacred seeds tommorrow, might even start a journal!

I just hope I can rely on my parents to water them when I'm at school!!!

Also, I know it's a newbie question but when planting outside, are nutrients and fert nessessary? or will the earth (if i get them some nutrient rich soil) be enough

Nutes are always a must bro! Yes there are some nutes in the soil but you need to add more. the plant will use up whats there.

Ok, but what do guerilla growers do? do they fertilize all there plants? I though it was set and forget style

Another stupid question, So i do use nutes for an outdoor grow, correct?

If so, is it the same regiment as indoor grows or do I only add nutes acouple times a month. (The MJ is going to be in a garden bed, not pots)

They'll do fine in your garden bed. Just keep an eye on them and if you see some plant problems try to find out what their lacking by the colour of their leaves, stalks etc. I'm willing to bet you can put them in your moms garden and just feed them water and you'll have nice plants. In my past experience I have just dug a hole, mixed one shovel full of cow shit in with existing soil and water when needed. Good luck brother, its sweet your parents are cool with you growing on their land.

I'll prob just do what you did and feed them only when they are in need

I def will, The store looks great. Also sells spores and exotic cacti... also the Canadian Seed exchange is just up the street.

So I'm thinking of some set and forget type time release nutrients I can apply when I transplant my plants to the garden bed. Does anyone have any good fertilizer time release brands that are affordable and are assessible? (ie rona, homedepot, other easy assessible places)
