DWC Water Chiller

Does anyone know where I can order a Hailae 1/10 in the US?
Are these available in the US?
Is there a different brand in the US?

Got a 4 bucket system in a 5x5 tent. HLG deablo scorpion LED light in the basement in winter and still having water temp issues and pythium. Water temps can get over 70f easy. I've been trying to use frozen gallon jugs ond 16oz water bottles to keep temps down but it's not easy to maintain steady temps.

Any advice is always welcome. Product, techniques, nukes, whatever it takes. haha

If anyone has experience with CX horticulture products that would be awesome as I can't find much online.

Thanks

Hydrogen peroxide is a cheap way to clear it up. Forget the ratio but can be found fairly easily. Could use pool shock to keep it away or could go beneficial bacteria. Really your choice. Pool shock is probably cheaper and is easy to maintain. Good luck

Thanks so much.

I've been using 3% H2o2 as a spray and that works but takes a week to recover. Ok for moms in soil but pythium comes back in later stages of flower after spraying clones in the buckets and switch to 12/12. The clones recover after a week but it comes back later in 12/12 regardless. I used it in the DWC and these alien amphibian things grew in the rez. I now know that was probably harmless but I stopped using H2o2 cuz it freaked me out and started with the pool shock. I've had success with this in DWC in early stages of 12/12 but again it comes back late in the 12/12 and really stresses them out. Using Shock in high doses I believe weakened the branches so much they were like noodles soft.

I think I would have better success with either of these H2o2 or shock if I could control temps. As soon as the water goes over 72f slime will be there the next day on the roots coming out of the baskets.
I could have better success if I went organic but I'm afraid of that attracting pests. I've been fighting Pythium for 20 years. I live in farm country.and flower I believe it's in the city water I use. I know UV water filer. OMG, it never ends.

I'm trying the CX horticulture regen-a-root and wilt guard products. They claim the wilt guard kills the pathogens outside and inside the whole plant. The regen-a-root says its a root stimulant. I'm hopeful because I'm seeing damaged roots starting to push out new white roots and the plants are looking better and growing. I was considering the water chiller but I'm thinking of better controlling the air and water temps in the tent first.

I was making my own clear rez with pool shock. The formula I got from a YouTube video. It's 54% Sodium Hypoclorite. Mixed 29 grams to 1 gal water. 1 ml per gal treatment every 3 - 4 days.

I don't recall what I was doing with the H2o2 3% in the rez. sorry.

I’ve had fair results with this running without any chlorine and temps 75-77 for periods of the day. I use about 1/2 ml per gallon. Also use it in promix with same salt fertilizer as dwc.

I have a 1/10HP active aqua chiller I haven’t really ran yet beside confirming it worked. Currently wrapping up a run in promix getting back into cultivation after a few years off. Have some vegging plants in dwc and wish to kick off the rdwc I setup a while ago. They are working well as a tray to catch runoff for now.

Thanks Sauce,

I may get some and try it on next run. I've decided to hold off on the water chiller for now but ordered one from a local garden shop for later use. I'm going to try to use an small AC unit to control temps in the tent in an attempt to control water temps "first". I already have the AC unit. I'm considering this fall to try the Hisenburg organic DWC method I've been reading about but I want to see how controlling the room temps and the regen-a-root and wilt guard preform on this first run of Mr Nice, Neville's Haze. Don't want to change everything right now. I'm a week into 12/12. Still not ruling out the chiller later in summer on the next run. Just not sure the best way to incorprate it into my 4 bucket RDWC system. I'll figure it out. The HLG light puts off more heat than I thought it would.

Regen-a-root and wilt guard update. This is the first time I've used these products and learning so I wanted to share what I'm seeing. If it helps anyone, cool. I don't represent CX horticulture and not getting paid by them, to be clear. I'm hoping it helps at least and fixes at best.

I had nice white roots coming out of the baskets a week ago. I did a rez change and the next day everything was brown and slime. I trimmed the dead roots that pulled away easily. I did another rez change and added the regen-a-root and wilt guard along with my normal Ionic Grow nutes. Ph 5.8, ppm 500 water temps 66 - 70f. 1 week later and I have this in the pics. You can see the new roots growing out of the dammaged roots. I think that's what I'm seeing. This is encouraging but I don't want to pop the champaine just yet.

Cheers
