DWC set up

Hi all,

Just set up my DWC bubbler. I am growing a amnesia haze which at the moment is still a little seedling.
The medium I am using is lava rock, or so I think. I read up some good reviews on it and got it a while back, apparently quite hard to get locally now at hydro shops in my area.

I havent turned the bubbler on at the moment as the tap root hasnt gone out of my sub surface tray yet.
Advice from a friend was to just keep watering every few hours or so, not huge amounts but enough for the medium not to dry out. Opinions on this are welcome

The question I wanted to ask is how often if I dont turn the bubbler on can I feed canna rhizotonic?
The nutes I am using on the grow are GH Flora following a chart from the local hydro shop, can tweek the amount if needs be, just want to use it as a guide for the time being. The reservoir I am using is 90L.

What? Your bubbler (airstone) is on 24/7. And I assume your waiting for your roots to hit water? You can water it like mad. Just let it dry out. Hope you get some BIG buds dude,

No I havent got any on yet, I dont see a point if the roots havent hit the water yet. Thanks for the info, will post pics up when shes a monster!

jack up the waterline, turn on the bubbles, don't need to top feed.

What I do is put my seedling sitting on one thin layer of hydroton then i fill up around it till its above the holes in net pot.. that way the waterline can be splashing on the hydroton from below due to the turbulance from the airstone bubbles popping.. The bubbles are also supplying a oxygen rich zone around the hydroton to help growth. Thats why you want your waterline right below your babies.. but not soaking them.
