My setup plans in progress: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/525557-new-first-time-grow.html

I am planning on doing a DWC system in the tents with probably 16 12" pots (non-circulating). How hard would a circulating system be to build and maintain and is this a good system (DWC in general) for a first-time grow? I want to do hydro for sure and it seems DWC has best results.

Would you recommend 6" net pots? I think I'm going to go straight to flower from clone. My seeds I ordered is Big Bang 2 from the Tude. Thinking of sprouting them all and picking the top three as mothers and transferring them to dirt. I would then grow the remaining plants as normal in one tent and harvest while preparing 30+ clones.

Should I impliment a supplemental drip system for the clones until they establish roots into the water/air mixture?

Thanks much for any help/advice!!

dude i got 8 plants in 3 1/2 gal buckets and hate doing anything with the buckets .....if i could go back in time id do a recirculating dwc system diff.strains like diff. nutes so all these things will factor into design ... I hand feed small fresh clones a couple times a day ... some dont ..find what works best for you and implement it hope this helps and happy growing

Krazeo: there are a lot of different ways to skin a cat. The nice thing about having individual pots is that if something bad happens it only happens to one plant. If there's a problem in an interconnected system: pH swing, nutrient lock out, nute burn, an algae bloom, etc., it affects all your plants. In stand alones they're all okay but one. You might want to think about using three or five gallon individual pots as pretty much of a minimum and lots of air.
As far as the size of the net pots are concerned that might depend a lot on the strain you're growing. I think the big 10" net pots are a waste of good Hydroton unless you're growing trees, but then I only grow small strains and I use five gallon pots with the 6" integral net pots in the lids. Large plants in small net pots can be a problem to keep standing upright.
You really want to research this ahead of time because when everything goes well it's wonderful but when it doesn't it's a real bummer. Something to think about. I hope this helps. HSA

Ive vegg'd a plant for a month in a 3" netpot then transplanted into a 6" netpot+lid....so you can grow trees in 6" net pots... I cant see any reason to go 10" netpots.. unless your inviting the FEDs lol.
