DWC air issue

My airstone cant seem to sit in place because my tubing is curled. It just kin of presses up against the wall. Because of this the bubbles arnt getting distributed evenly through the bucket and only 1/6 of my pots is getting air bubbles. Does this matter?

The roots will seek out the bubbles. When I did dwc I would take a rock that would fit my needs (to put it shortly) and put it in a bleach water solution soak and wash off. Then use it to weigh down airstone.

Nope...Most of your oxygen is created by surface breakage, so as long as that's still there i'd say you're good.

Cherrypopper: I think Big Buddacheese and I are using the same stones and I love 'em, They're the 'fat' cylindrical ones and they're a lot heavier. They're a litle more expensive but they work great. You also might want to use black plastic drip irrigation tubing instead of the crappy clear plastic hose. It doesn't kink as much and it's pretty tough stuff. I hope that helps. HSA

The simplest thing is to get air stones which are heavy enough to weigh themselves down and forget about it. Alternatively, hot glue is non toxic and OK to use in the res.

I use standard 6inch blue stones I get for about 90c each. They last two grows before they deteriorate, so about 4 months per stone. In between grows I soak them in h202, rinse, and then boil for 20 minutes.

Yup. Solid heavy do great job, using current ones for like 4 flower cycles just like new.
