Ok so I have a 3ftx3ftx6ft grow tent. Inside I have a 600 watt mh/hps digital light on a batwing reflector.. now I also have a 6inch carbonfilter/fan combo. Fan has 424cfms. Now when I got the fan I was told that I would be able to get a hood that wast required to be aircooled becasue the exhaust fan would be enough to change the air out with passive intake vents open.

now i have this going on and my temps are at 90F with fan on full blast....... I dont know what to do please help..... will a intake fan at 100cfms really help to keep temps down in there. or should I just buy a aircooled hood........if I do how do I hook it up my tent is tiny

some of the problems with open bulb (batwing) style reflectors is no glass between the plant and the bulb. air cooled hoods will hang nice in your tent and they are simple to hook up with flex pipe.just slide the pipe over the collar on your hood and duct tape the bitch.i just pulled the glass on my hood to clean it and my temps at the top of the plants went up 5 degrees in 20 min.

what is your setup exactly, carbon filter - duct - hood - duct - fan - out? You dont have a cooltube or a sealed hood?

well i have a 2'6x2'6x5'11 tent with a 600 hps.. i have a air cooled hood and what i do is run my 465 cfm exhaust fan pulling the air from in the room throught an air sock for oder then it goes through the light and out, and i also have an intake fan rated at 165 cfm that i run 24-7 blowing fresh air in and my temps get to 78 and if i wanted to i could get it down to 75 but my house where it pulls the fresh air from is 69. to answer your question yes an air cooled hood should do it and once you get it and make sure you get or have ducting and it will be easy to figure it out. when i get my laptop out in a few i will put a pic up so you can see..
