Question to all those experienced. I hung my buds up yesterday around 1pm. Its 30 hours later and my biggest went from 26g, down to 8g. I know im gunna lose weight, but does this seem like its drying to fast? I dont have a temp/humid gague in my dry box but i know RH in my place is 50-60%. Do they normally lose most of their weight in the first day?

they are drying way to fast. your trimmed them to much. i hang mine the whole plant for 2 days then trim fan leaves then wait 1 more day then i trim better and hang each bud for 3 days then i cover the whole thing with plastic for 12 hrs. then take off plastic and check. usually about 2 more days its ready. sometiems a day more on each if rh is higher. you will loose 70% to drying.

seems fast to me , drying in a hot room 80-85f it would still take a few days to be dry and crispy on the surface
drying at 70f it would take 7 days or so to lose that much weight

are you drying with some kind of heater ?

If the outside is crispy, put them in a jar until the moisture is even, then if it's mushy, put it out to dry again.

Most of the chemistry that makes the smoke better happens within the first few days of drying.

Did someone tax your harvest? That's way to fast and they're not even crispy on the outside? An 8 gram bud would be my total dry and cured finished weight from a 26g. bud. Always a little less than a 3rd. Just throwing it out there as the cause. Time to reap the rewards of your work and patience though, good job on getting to harvest.

Im chalking it up to trimming everything and watering the night before, along with size, it was a lot of little buds. The other plants are bigger so they will take longer as i wont trim and i will harvest 48 hrs after watering instead of 20.
