haha so basically I had 4 plants going in a greenhouse (I live in Southern ontario canada BTW, avg temp is 0-5 C (30-40 F)), I chopped them all yesterday around this time right at the base of the plant, cut most of them in half and hung the halves of each in my greenhouse (cant do it inside because of smell).

So I did a rough trim of the bulk leaves to help clean em up a bit, as there was some light mold growing on few leaves (luckily none that I saw on buds) due to the high humidity and low temps we've been getting from hurricane sandy, been raining for over a week straight and i've been away at university so i couldnt monitor them, just had a friend watering.

Anyways, so it was quite cold last night and I figured i need some heat for drying to i turned on a small space heater last night, its been running since and keeping the temps in the low 20Cs (68F). Also air is fairly dry i believe because the space heater is dry heat and the greenhouse has no water in it anywhere and is completely sealed except a vent on top.

SO BASICALLY MY QUESTION IS: With this constant dry heat, how long should I leave them to dry? I hear between days and weeks online! Or should I leave them in the greenhouse without heat to dry?

The reason why its urgent is because I will be going to school and wont be able to take them down/put in jars till saturday if I dont put them in tomorrow morning.

Any help is appreciated!! Sorry for the long post, i like to make sure you know the details!

If you contunue to leave then in there at those temps without heat, I've no doubt you'll lose it all to mold. I would leave them in there with the heat on, Maybe put a little bowl of water in there just to raise humidity a little, So they don't dry too fast. Check them in the morning and judge how wet/damp they are. I don't think they will be done by tomorrow btw. You most likely will be good to leave them until Saturday as mj will take usually between 7/10 days to dry properly(well for a decent amount) When you get back on sat they will probs be done. Remember you cant put them in the jars damp. You can however put them in paper bags and in a warm dry place in your house. Anyway good luck man. Hope this helps a bit. Peace. CG

put newspaper down and lay it on it and cover with it too, if you gotta lot to dry have it in layers. and as closet says get heat on it or it'll probably mould. i use a heater on my grow, it goes 15 mins every 2 hrs with a segmental timer, maybe try sumthing like that.

Alright so the heater has been on since last night and will remain that way until tmw morning. The temps are maintained well and its got a little fan with the heater so I have some air movement. I believe I will trim them up completely tomorrow morning and paper bag them and put them somewhere inside. Ill instruct my friend to give the bags a light shake daily, to make sure its all even, correct? And next week ill jar em! :D Thanks everyone for the help! PS IS mold on the bud easy to spot? All my buds seem unaffected but some of the leaves got moldy. To lose buds to mold is so heart breaking after waiting all season to try your first harvest :( But live and learn! Thanks again

open up the bigger buds with your finger and spread the buds wide( sounds kinda sexual....then again maybe im just a sad fucker) this'll let the air into the centre and reduce the possibility of mould and yes its easy enough to spot, powdery shit all over it and a smell.
