I've only grown this past season, but I waited till I could roll a joint and have it burn before I jarred, and this worked great for me. If you suspect excessive moisture and you put them in jars be sure to keep a eye on them daily for mold growth. If they are crispy on the outside I'd jar'em and check'em daily, and burp as needed.

Caliber 3 hydrometer is what I use. Jar them up whenever and with a caliber hydrometer you can burp when needed without worry. I've even used humidi Pak

sounds like some good sticky weed.
i suggest if its moist in the middle. you vacum pack it and burp daily also like green said keep a eye on it daily for mould but 100% vacum pack that shit

Don't let any of your herb get too dry..slows the cure till it has enough moisture to maintain gas transfer..but you don't want it to die
Jar it up tonight and try again in the morning..
60% humidity will surprise you..don't over dry
And get a hydrometer to help..not necessary but nice to get a feel

I air-dry my bud for 2-4 days until the smaller buds are crispy. Seal in a glass jar for 24 hours, then check. If still too moist do another 24 hours sealed and check again. Repeat until the smaller branches snap. Usually takes me 2-3 trips in the jar before I'm happy. Course then again I don't sit on anything very long, eh? BigSteve.

Paper bags off gas and can add unpleasant tastes to your bud IMO. Never use them myself, and i have also found it can feel like its really dry but when put in jars it will moisten up pretty good. Just keep a close eye on it. Put it in and check it in 12 hours after being sealed and put in a cool dry location. If it feels really moist dry it some more.

After putting in all your time, money, and effort in you sure don't want to jack up your weed. I hang it for a week (average humidity). Then it gets sealed, opened, and turned every day for 10 to 14 days.

Yep, common indoor problem this time of the year. Heaters suck the humidity right out of the air.
Jar it and burp it every day for the first week.

I live in an arid area with low humidity and drying can be tricky. I have found that hanging the whole plant or large portions with plenty o' vegetation will slow drying and help stave off crispy buds. It takes approx. 10-15 days when I hang a whole plant, usually 4-5 feet plants. Then they can be placed in unbleached brown paper bags for further drying (depends on preference) or storage containers for cure.

Drying 6 White Widow right now and I keep temps around 65 and humindity is around 45. Its gonna take a week to get it dry enough to go into the jars. Im also curing a Critical run and its been in jars now for about two weeks and I'm still burping them every couple of days when I remember lol. I am real nervous when it comes to the jar cure as I have lost a couple due to mold in the past so I do error on the side of dry probably. It is still soft after the cure and does not crumble which is what I like.

Everyone is doing this a little different.I like to quik dry.I take the buds machine trimmed and put them into a round hanging dry rack sealed in a room with a dehumidifier.Humidity is set to around 40%.The buds have been removed from the stems already this will help dry faster as the buds will soak up moisture from the stems. After about two days in the rack with the dehumidifier running i take them down and put them into large two gallon glass cookie jars that get burped every day. After two weeks in the cookie jars they are ready for smoke.I do it this way to ensure i never have a mold issue.Try to get your buds dry enough so they are hard but moist enough so they dont crumble. This system has worked best for me to keep them just right. They dry fast so there is no chance of mold.

I agree, the slower the better. I try to let mine hang for at least 14 days and then if they are satisfactory, move em to air tight storage for at least 3 weeks to cure, burped routinely. It really makes a huge difference, if you have the time, but as long as you are pleased, then it is worth it. Appreciate reading everyone's input. Happy Holidays.

one of the most important parts of the grow is the cure. screw this up, and you're fugged! i hang mine in a dark, cool, dry room with an oscillating fan not blowing directly on them. they hang until the stems snap, not bend. then they go into mason jars for almost a month. open the jars for 15 minutes, 3 times a day. when they're done, the smoke is so smooth, that by the time you feel it in your lungs, you have a huge hit and almost choke, lol. a good cure will separate your smoke from the pack! there's no hurrying a cure, but it's soooo worth the wait!!!
