Drying at Normal House Temp...

I see all these articles about drying marijuana at 60-70 degree temps. Who TF has a room that cold in the summer South of Alaska?? I couldn't get my house that cold if the AC ran full bore, nonstop 24/7 so it seems like totally impractical advice. Is "normal" air conditioned room temperature of +/- 73 degrees and average home humidity of +/- 50% adequate for drying weed?

There's no way you can section off a spot in an open floor plan, central AC house in the tropics and keep it below 70 in the summer when it's 95 degrees and steamy humid outside every day. Yet every "how to dry" article seems to think people who grow a plant in a closet have some sort of high tech climate controlled box to dry their plant in, I don't get it.

My thoughts is we overthink the "drying" process. One of my top 5 smokes of all time was a branch I left in the closet unattended for 3 seasons. Perfect break down, Hella flavor, sticky and better than the shit I cured.

Yeah I've done lots of temps and humidity and if there's lots of terps to begin with you don't lose any noticable amount. Just check to see if they're getting crispy around day 5 you don't want to over dry them

Like you there's no way I could get my house that cool. Even if I could the wife wouldn't let me! I dry all the time above 70f but I run a dehumidifier at 60%. Things turn out just fine. Just don't let it get too crisp.

It’s not practical to bring a room down in temp to dry, but what if you built a box and brought the box down in temp and humidity? Then you could insulate the box as well. Or try this.
