I've had plants droop outdoors due to the sun going down. I have also noticed plants actually standing up right before the sun rises, anticipating the the sunrise. Then they would start drooping later, a little while before sunset. They droop during dark hours throughout the grown. They mainly drooped while they were vegging. When they started flowering they didn't seem to droop anymore throughout the rest of the grow.

They weren't drooping based on the light, it was the temperature decrease, which coincides with lower light. It happens because the temperature drop decreases your leaves rate of transpiration and it temporarily takes on an overwatered state until it balances out with slower transpiration during the cool period.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the info.

hmm never had that issue last year with my outdoor grow, they do tend to go down when the sun goes down or lights out but i went from indoor to outdoor i dont know if you know what hardening off means? pretty much if your bringing your plant from indoor to outdoor you wanna put it in the sun for about 15-20 mins a day, if its hot n sunny put it under a tree or some shade to not shock your plant. i do it for about about a week so it can adjust to outdoor environment..

just thought id point this out cause you didn't mention if you had an outdoor or indoor grow. also it can be a overwater/underwater issue too. Good luck n hope this helped!

My plants stand upright at night in the veg light, and droop deathly during the day under the Sun. I don't know why. It is rather disturbing. I transplanted them and discovered mushy roots. Not sure if they were in later stage of being root bound, or if too much wood ash was added to the soil and somehow burned them. :-\

You have root rot, brown roots and mush, yup. Root rot too much watering. Feel the pots when you think they are bone dry, without wilting. The ones that are rotten pull them out, trim the roots and re-pot

Definitely looked like mushy root rot based on your description. I've already transplanted the plants, no photos were taken. I've a lot of shriveled leaves, and lightly colored ones are left. Hope they perk up, I'd hate to lose the genetics. My plants in flower look similar. Maybe I over watered in the heat wave, but part of me suspects high ph and wood ash....

You have to watch the wood ash man. I think its (if you use it in soil ) 1/4 for 20 gallons hardwood ash. I might be wrong but it's a smaller amount than what most people think. I use it for making soap. That kind of says something about the the product.

Outside ..so this is no DWC grow,..look close at the roots read this in my blog: https://www.rollitup.org/Journal/Entry/root-rot-pythium.27516/
the bottomline is examine you roots closely sniff them poke about very gently
this is a fungi hence spores are highly active,
and easily dispersed ..
clone now for an easy exit
...or ????

I was real careful the first time I used it... this last time....not so much. :-[ Iknow it's the basis for lye, and I still have a jar of fat I've been saving to make soap....unless anyone wants to vape pig glycerine...:-P

I did an image search for Pythium and I didn't see any of the mushrooms I get from time to time. Sometimes I get parasol caps.
