Drilled through line in refrigerator .. Hissing sound .. Advice

I decided to do a stealth grow rather than using the entire room, and I am using an extra refrigerator of mine. I was just drilling the holes for intake/exhaust with my hole saw when all the sudden HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! wtf is that? I'm guessing the freon line, but is it dangerous? Will the damn thing blow up? Can I smoke a cigarette in the house yet? I would really like some help since I need to get this done! It has stopped hissing, but now what? Can someone explain this to me! Thanks!

don't plug it in anymore. it's ruined. otherwise, grow away.

the refrigerant is not flammable, but HIGH concentration of it will displace oxygen. I hope you weren't planning on using the refrigerator to regulate temps...because if it 'hissed' and then stopped...you're out of juice and need to repair your leak before trying to recharge the system.

Thanks for the info guys! I had thought about it, but apparently I won't know. I'm okay with not using it to regulate temps. I just picked up two fans that I've never seen so strong..Will pick up another for study room fan I'm not done drilling though, that's the problem. I need to do another hole. Is there anything else I can run into? Anything that can blow up? How much oxygen will it displace? I have an industrial fan turned on right now...I'm doing this in my apartment. I'm just worried about blowing something up. We own the condo, but the admin still bitches if we do ANYTHING! Please give me some tips because I'd like to get this done soon.

I'm not worried about the ozone layer, just me from blowing up.. We all deplete the ozone layer with smoke & automobiles..This is just a little freon

as long as it is not plugged in...YOU WILL NOT HURT YOURSELF. Drill away..you may hit one of the lines again, but you've most likely already emptied the system and won't get the 'hiss'.

yeaa man you shouldnt have too many problems id turn a fan on and open a while whle your drillin jus incase but you should be goood
