At first, I took your post as an insult: like you were questioning my intelligence and felt the need to educate me. The fact is, this is not my first rodeo! I have been ordering seeds for years and have placed 20+ orders from a half dozen seedbanks in the past 2 years alone!
After I first read it yesterday, I began typing a typical smart-assed quirky response. I then erased it and chose not to respond at first. I came back and re-read it and I feel I may have taken it out of context a little.
I do believe that you were genuinely trying to help me. (I know that you werent giving Castle a plug). You gave great advise for someone that is just getting started or going to place their first order. And I agree, it is very sound advise to give a new grower.
At the same time, it is a matter of opinion. Your opinion is that you dont put emphasis into freebies. I respect that. But on the other hand, for me freebies are important and will pursuey my ordering habbits. To me, paying a few extra dollera in order to get 10 extra beans is well worth it. I like the variety.i like the fact that i will get a particular strain or something from a particular breeder that I would typically never buy. And yes, I have placed future orders based off of the results of growing out freebies. I just keep my eye out and schedule my orders around the time of a killer promo. My last order at the 'tude came with 14 freebies. I have already grown or are growing (9 of them) them now with 100% germination and even found a keeper!
And to answer another of your questions - try placing an order from the breeders boutique and you will find that their freebies are better then most strains you can even buy at most seedbanks! They give you equal amount of freebies to the amount you purchase!
Soooo to sum up this novel: No hard feelings. I respect your opinion, it is good/sound advise for a new grower. But if you grow as many plants and order as many times as I do, then maxamizing your freebies is the way to go... I LOVE FREEBIES!!!
