Nah man it's cool the point of posting is to find out if your experience mirrors that of the general pop, and now that you know if you return it you have a chance at least you aren't up the creek without a paddle. if you know what I am saying, cause they really are good timers, the ability to schedule events is like the best. Anyway I ramble, GL when you return it hopefully you don;t hit a dud again.

I have 1 of those in my system. I thought the same thing after I turned it on auto the first time. Nothing happened it just burned steady, however after leaving it for 24 hours on auto, it reset itself and has never missed an ignition or power off since...2 1/2 yrs running. Good luck

I have that same exact timer on my 1,000 watt HPS light, it has been working great for about a year and a half.

Are you sure you do not have it set up wrong? With that one, I am thinking you have to go ON, then Auto, then OFF, the Auto and it works. but if you go On the Auto it just runs.

Not sure, it has been a long time. I know that once I had it where it was not working correctly, and I had to fiddle with it. Seems like all my digital timers work like this.

In other words there are two Auto settings. You need to scroll through until you hit the second one.

Also, make sure it is set for 7 days a week, because you can set it to only run on certain days.

PS the Auto is not showing because it is hidden behind the flash.

Did not see your last post. Glad you got it working. As for the battery,, Hmmmm. I have never changed my battery at all. I think the battery is for power outages, so it will not lose its program and time.
