Doing no water 72-hr preharvest...in ebb/flow?

I'm planning on doing the 72 hours of dark before harvesting, as well as no food/water.

I know this applies to soil grows, but is this okay in a hydro setup, ebb and flow with hydroton? It seems as though the plants would wilt up and die in that amount of time with no water, as that long in hydroton would mean the root zone would be completey dried out.

What do you experienced growers go with?

anyone?

I am not experienced to say the least, but leaving them to just dry for 3 days would be like harvesting them today and not waiting 3 days. they will start to die...you have to keep them living and in the dark for the process to occur.

wouldn't that just be the start of the dry process?
