Hey RIU, gonna be a couple weeks before I can finish our indoor op, but I wanted to share my little outdoor journey.
Moved to Colorado a couple weeks ago, onto a 6 acre farm. We've got chicken and duck coops/feed lots, a roost, and horse barns, so plenty of over-wintered animal manures. I'm actually using the roost area as the enclosure, since you will have to pass through 2 locked gates for access.
The soil in the roost was practically concrete. Who knows how long it has been getting layers of oyster shell then pooped on, but the oyster shell and sand was solid on top. I dug up 6-8" of the soil in the roost and removed half of the volume, adding some straw, sawdust, horse manure, red granite, and sand. I dug until it softened up a bit, the native soil is pretty sandy.
I was gifted a variety of new seed strains upon arrival. Blueberry, strawberry kush, pineapple haze, and super silver haze, all feminized and from Robert Bergman, and mobb boss from Santé in Denver. Popped the blueberry immediately, personal preference. Gonna do SSH and pineapple haze next. Blueberry is gonna go outside, but I will take cuts to see how she does indoors. 2/3 have popped so far.
