does this sound sketchy

iv got an opportunity in norcal this season to help out with another guy growing about 80 plants outdoors.

ill be there 24/7 taking care and maintaining everything. the guy aka the partner will be funding and supplying the project and is also his land 20 acres and he leased out a front 20 acres to 2 other guys for growing aswell.

we plan to run 100 gallon smart pots ontop of amended soil so altogether about 200-300 gallons

question one is i dont really know the guy a friend of a friend of a friend knows this guy that needs help kinda thing
but considering he is paying for everything and supplying it all i wouldnt think he would be a cop for a setup or anything. and im not affraid for my life or anything just sketchy of at end of season will i take it up the butt lol.

and my labor and time invested ill be there 24/7 he comes and goes ill be doing security all that good stuff aswell as taking care of everything and maintaining it. what do you think is a fare split between us at end of season?

and when you get raided, will you roll over on the investor? seems you are taking most of the risk being there 24/7 and seeing how he leased out his land for other growers, this shit is not headed in the right direction to begin with...you're asking for trouble homes, and to be honest, you sort of sound like a newb for even asking this

Yeah mega sketch. A lot could grow wrong. Thats a big grow, 160 trees (if it is 2 batches of 80). It could be spotted by the cops or rippers. And you didnt say anything about distribution,if someone else is doing that you could be left hanging like a chump with a paltry payout or none at all.

And if it is you moving it, do you even have safe connections? Peddling outdoor in the fall is highly competitive,you cant just walk into a dispensary and be like "heres 80 lbs of outdoor Ill be back in a couple weeks to collect".

Like the other guy said,if you have to ask..youre probably not ready for that kind of operation.

I'm new to nor cal. And also such large size. . end of season I cut and dry my share. And not sure how many the other guys are doing

I doubt you will make it till the end of the season with them. If you do more power to you.

I agree with that. Usually people who know how to pull off a grow like that don't need to hire randoms.

If anyone does participate in something like this, never have anything with your name on it anywhere near this house. Park your car off the property, don't bring your DL with you. If the cops come, run and never go back.

I'm with Dan and angryblackman. They are looking for cut outs. You do not want to be that. Get your own grow.

A friend of a friend of a friend is too far removed for good operational security.

Sketchy. I'd only ever partner up with someone I seriously trusted. And even then I probably wouldn't.

Gotta agree with the rest... big chance of getting raided or ripped before the end of season... even if you don't get ripped or raided, your share of the harvest may magically disappear along with the other grower(s) who took it. Then you did it all for nothing. You'd be much better off putting time into your own grow.

u would have better luck growing a few plants somewhere in the woods and tell nobody

But that's the problem. How do you know when it's the end? You are assuming they are actually going to want him to flower them all the way to the end and don't happen to have some other plan. You are also assuming they won't do exactly what you are telling him to do just one day before the 'end' by his definition. Far to risky. I'm with angryblackman, trust no one.

Oh and if perchance I was young, studly and feeling risky I'd follow Dan Kone's advice above. He painted the most realistic picture of how to handle this. I'd listen to him and ask more if I were really considering this.

Finally I'd make sure I had spoken with a top shelf criminal defense attorney who could handle the case and I'd ask him. Frankly if what you would get would not pay for your attorney it's not worth your time. Because until this stuff is Federally legal you have to consider attorney costs as simply the cost of doing business, frustrating but true.

I wouldn't say that... IF *ALL* the guys are on the up and up and they don't get raided, ripped, or killed by cops/rippers), it could be the best year of his life. Some pretty big ifs. I probably couldn't do it out of paranoia... i'd spend the whole time thinking every noise was rippers or cops coming to get us

You are so right on this! Yes that's the problem. He could learn in a year what it takes us home growers years and years to learn. Oh but the losses if caught or ripped or.... I'd probably give different advice in a different decade of my life.
