Does anyone run a fully automated setup?

I'm more of a techie than a gardener and have been really looking at those growtronix systems. From what I've read from others they can do everything: control CO2, temps, humidity, adjust ph and PPM via drip feeders, even shut off the lights or pumps in case of a critical reading. And they do it all more accurately than a person ever could because a computer is constantly monitoring the whole setup.

Are there any downsides to the fully automated systems? What else should I take a look at besides the growtronix systems?
