Does a light have to directly hit a plant?

In a box space completely light sealed does the light just fill up the space or does it penetrate whatever it's facing? Because I have a light in my box that's not directly facing the plant it is below the plant and I just wanted to know if it stays on will the rays and watts and lumen float around and get absorbed by the plant?

Is light like heat basically?

Light will reflect. But, reflected light loses strength. Nothing wrong with soft, diffuse light in a small space. But, you probably want to have it hitting the plant, even if it's just sidelighting.

You can install a free lightmeter on your smartphone and use it to measure how well the light reflects within your space, how much it loses. I have BeeCam Lightmeter installed on my camera to measure Lux (the amount of lumens falling on a spot). If you play with something like that you'll see how much better it is for the light to fall directly on the plant, not reach it through reflections.

Yea, so where does light go? It's in a sealed box. Ouch my brain! Since energy cannot be created or destroyed then what is the light transformed into? Coal is burned to heat water and create steam and a turbine is turned and that energy is turned into electricity which comes into your home and that energy is turned into light and heat. Then what?

Better yet, If I plant my crop in the front of my spaceship and then travel at the speed of light when will my crop be ready and since it's in the front of the ship will I get to smoke it faster or will I just simply get high before I smoke the week. :)

When this thing hits 88mph, you're gonna see some serious shit. I'm going to build a time machine now. That way I can throw beans in the ground. Go to the future. Harvest. Throw them in cure jars. Go forward 6 more months. Then take them back to present time. On a side note if OP were to build a growbox using the design from Hellraiser 4 it would work.
