Do you play an instrument?

I play the trumpet. Started in fifth grade. A girl I liked signed up for band and I did too. Played through highschool, marching and symphonic band, lots of good times. Took a break and then decided I wanted to play again so I bought a small one to get back in shape with. IMAG3208_1.jpg

But also, the guitar. For in excess of a decade. I got interested in playing the guitar by listening to guitar based music and enjoying campfire hoedowns. It's easy enough to find the tools to learn an instrument these days with the internet and all, if you don't want to break the bank for lessons.

And I now realize I made the same joke. Didn't get er in there quite fast enough. I feel shame.

I played b-flat alto sax in high school and beyond, was in a couple bands that sucked...but it was fun.

In 2013 I bought a Strat & 40 watt blues amp. Took 6 lessons to get started and I was playing a little. Studied on the internet...learned a few things.
Bought a few distortion pedals over the next year...Wah wah, '63 Fender Reverb, Overdrive, Digital Delay, Compression Sustain...
Picked up a Tele on sale in 2014...

Caught on to pentatonic scale quick, a few chords, moveable chords, string bending...

Not brilliant, but I can play a little...slow string bending blues, nothing too fast. Lol.

Lots of websites with blues teaching vids...I've been known to get high and play a few hours...for fun only. Wife likes it. I pretend she's a groupie sometimes. Lol.

You guys know me. I play violin and viola professionally, and some piano. I also have a rich, semi-trained baritone voice that people have used in ensembles. I've been playing for almost 40 years, started when I was 3. I am first violin and manager for one of the top classical chamber ensembles in my city, and it's the only thing I can list as income, because the majority of my income is from growing and selling weed in our black market. Weed and music, what a life. I would suggest you take piano, Pad. You get the most bang for your musical buck, especially starting a this late age. I think every musician should learn piano, it's the best musical stepping stone imo...
