RIU`ppers So we all watch industry hype about the latest and the greatest . I am currently looking into DE double ended bulbs and commercial style ballasts ( Gavita ) . That companies stuff has been reviewed by folks on You - Tube . Gavita has a replaceable aluminum reflector , supposedly 98% efficiency , which is from $ 20 - $ 40 bucks to replace . Plus Gavita advertises that the units use 30 % less electricity . Anyone have proof or disproof of such claims ? I use Hydro Farm Radiant hoods and I believe when they were new it was 95 % or maybe 92 % efficiency , the guy reviewing the Gavita package ... said hoods lose 5% annually . So are my 5 year old Radiant hoods really 25 % less efficient than the day it came out of the box ??? Posterart
