Do cannabis plant buds get bigger in the day or night??
Also what about when they are veging?
My plants dont seem to grow in the day but always look bigger in the morning...maybe its because i watch them to much i could stare at them for hours sometimes :joint:

They grow in the light.(mainly) I've had days where I would have to raise my light twice in one day, while they were growing strong, in veg.

EDIT: Ignore that answer. I'm sober now, and don't agree anymore.lol I never actually read about it, so i'd just be talkin out of my ass if i pretended like i knew the actual facts.

Dude

Plants only grow when you don't stare at them for long periods of time. Try this out immediately.

Go to your grow room, but before you go bring some snacks with you. Now open the door and stare at one plant for just a few seconds. Try not to blink your eyes.........if you do you might have to start over. Then turn your head away for a few seconds and WALLA!!! MAGIC!!

Good luck!! 8)

what I don't understand is the advantage for 24/7 during vegging. What is the theory behind that?
plants grow in the dark but they stretch for light.. If you run 24/7 people believe that it grows quicker and produces shorter stockier plant ( less stretching)

I don't use 24/7 because in nature plants get a daily break, indoor growing is intended to mimic nature as productively as possible..

It's probably okay during seedling and cloning phases, but I'm of the belief that root growth occurs in the dark.

I see my plants way too often during the day. I don't really notice the changes because I see them several times during the course of the day. I do notice changes in the mornings.
I think the buds strech out during the day and fill in overnight... but I might have this backwards.

And it is to mimic nature best as possible and enhance as many things as you can.. 24 hours of light will grow your plant through veg quicker. Now better? that is for you to decide

Ahhhhh the life of us grower's. I can never tell if they have grow or not until im told " Fuck me bro, look at the size of em now". its like going to the gym and weight training. you will not notice yourself putting muscle on until your told. " wow have you been going to the gym". lol

to put it very very simply because i am not trying to get all technical cuz im sure someone else will but im pretty sure the soak up all the light and energy during the day and at night is when the roots soak up everything in the water or soil or whatever and in turn is when they produce the buds and such.....which is why i posted because my veg room is 24-0, with what i believe to be true posted above how do my veg plants grow?

Well I just ran 24/0 all through veg and my roots flourished so no need to get technical because it happens to work along with many others that run 24/0:-o

Heres something I just read:

Plants grow taller in the dark. however they are a lot more healthy growing in the light.

This because in the absence of light, cells in plant stems grow rapidly and leaf growth is therefore suppressed. If you take a closer look or let a plant continue to grow in the dark, you may notice thin and weak stems. One may also discover that without light, leaves tend to be small and pale, as they lack the green pigment, chlorophyll, and thus the ability to make food or photosynthesize. Whereas the one in the light slows its growth rate so that it can make leaves to photosynthesize.....

So maybe a balanced approach would be best

Nothing about growing plants inside is natural. It is about manipulating biology not replicating outdoor conditions.
