i have 5 plants that are in the budding stage..the lights are

100watt incandescent

23watt CFL

60watt incandescent

Yikes, incandescents are your main lights?

I'd suggest investing in a 600W HPS, or 400W, or getting a lot more cfls.

Get rid of the incandescents, they are no good for growing.

Buy more cfls--at least half a dozen 23W or 43W--or invest in a HID system.

ditch the incandescents as soon as you get other lights to replace them. they are no good for growing. figure out the lumens you have and what you will need. cfl lights can be as close as an inch to your plants, but make sure they never touch or they will burn. basically, you should have a bare minimum of 2000 lumens per plant, but the more the better. the plants will love it. cfl's work well for beginners if done right. hps is great to have, but can be an investment.
