Evening all!

A few buddies have a a grow room, im planning on starting in the new year so its cool to bounce ideas of them and pick their brains...

Smt came up the other night which id like your opinions on...basically these guys have got shot of their cool tubes cos they reckon it reduces lumen output. Their tent is well vented and they dont seem to have heat issues...

I can well imaine the ct's do reduce lumen output, how much is another question...also i can well imagine that any lost lumens are more than compensated for by the extra closeness you can get with the cool tubes...

All i know is that virtually every grow ive seen on here has used cooltubes...

Does my buddy have a point???

Cheers fellas!

"Somebody here with a very short name (forgot) did some tests on reflectors, both bare and glass covered, and I think found that the lumen reduction isn't too significant (300-400 lumens less, etc). But you probably get back more lumens since you can play the plants much closer. Also, DIY cool tubes might be using different types of glass. Not to mention that dust and stuff getting into the CT aren't accounted for."

found after googling some , from icmag

IMO cooltube obv losses lumens but it accounts for the fact you can get the plants so close.
