Do clones need heat mat?

Looking at some 7" cloning domes, some come with a heat mat. Does the steady warmth of a heat mat aid in faster clone root development? I know heat is a plus for germination. I imagine it would keep the humidity up as well. Your thoughts?

Clones don't need it unless the surface you are putting the tray on is "cold". At any rate, you should get the heating mat just in case, someday you will use it. HTH.

I had 100% success with using a heat mat; I use it for germing seeds also. Just make SURE to test it after a bit to make sure it's not cooking the water/seeds. If it's too hot you can fold a towel and put between the mat and seeds/pots.
