Diy water help

So Im running water via a hose from a spigot into my detached.
I rig it under the door so I can close it as much as I can but still unsettling.
Thought about cutting a hole so I can just run it through a hole but it leaves chance of it freezing.

My new idea is to buy a spigot and install it on the side of the detached, I would have a smaller hose run from the outside spigot to the other spigot and then another hose on the inside to the pre filter.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it a bad idea?

It will work , but I recommend using a hose x npt adapter on the outside and put the spigot on the inside.
