DIY Ona Odor Control Dispenser

I am growing 6 plants in an apartment, using a carbon filter, but still having a little smell escaping, so I picked up a gallon bucket of ONA PRO, but just having it sit open wasn't exactly neutralizing the odor to my standards. I was contemplating picking up a second carbon filter, but i'm running low on funds. Well last night I became pretty innovative (Must've been the mix of Grape God/Bruce Banner) and came up with a solution that I think could help many growers when you have neighbors on each side of your walls, and above you.

Assuming some of you are familiar with the Ona fan that snaps directly onto your Gallon bucket of Ona, I began thinking of ways to build this myself. I have an old inline fan laying around that I have no use for currently, and an extra 5 gallon bucket from home depot.

Step 1: Take your 5 gallon bucket and cut a portion out that is 2 inches wide (top to bottom), by 12 inches long across the bucket, close to the bottom. This will be your intake vent.

Step 2: Place Gallon of Ona Gel into the bottom of 5 gal bucket (I imagine this could work with the blocks too, you could also cut the vent slightly higher and place Ona gel directly in bottom of the 5 Gal Bucket)

Step 3: Use a fan that will fit and be able to seal around the top of your bucket, For me I used a spare inline that was lying around, but I imagine you could rig something with a cheap computer fan or desk fan as well. If your inline or whatever fan you are using is too small, Keep the 5 gal bucket lid on and cut a hole to fit your intake side into it. You could also use ducting from the bucket to the fan if desired.

Step 4: Duct tape the edges of the fan to the top of the bucket, with the intake pointing down towards the ona, seal it off good.

Step 5: Plug in and Go! The slit in the bottom of the home depot bucket will draw in air and mix with the Ona, sending out the exhaust end of your fan, filling the room with a fresh clean scent.

I put my rig into a large cardboard box with holes cut into it to disperse the ona and muffle the sound of the fan. My fiancé woke up this morning after I was working all night, walked into the bedroom where my 5x5 tent is and asked, "Why does it smell so nice in here?" It was the only verification I needed to know my invention was a success. There are many ways ive thought to do this. Even if you have a cheap box fan from walmart and a cardboard box with a similar size opening to fit the fan, this could be done simply by sliding the fan into the box on top of the 5 gal bucket, just be sure to cut some intake holes into the box at the base. Just a cheap DIY idea for those having Odor issues that are on a budget. Pretty self explanatory, but if anyone requires pictures, just ask. Grow On and Stay Discreet!
