I planning on building a grow box/cab out of pvc, and drywall, pvc being the frame and the drywall being the shell, do you guys think this is a good idea or should I use plastic like a hydrohut? If I do use use plastic what kind should purchase from homedepot/lowes, Does anyone on have detailed pics or blueprints of a similar build? ect so I don't make to many mistakes through the process of the build. My plan for the box is approx 4ft by 4ft by 6ft high with fans, DIY carbon scrubber ect.. I going to put the box into my 8ft by 5ft walk in closet......All ideas welcomed and Thanks for the help

sorry i have never seen such a box, but if its going in your closet anyway why not just build a frame from 1x2's and make walls out of panda film? It would be easy and cheap aswell. Just a thought.

Instead of drywall, which is really heavy -try foam insulation.

My latest stealth box is made from a plastic shelving unit with foil backed foam insulation - lightweight, easy to cut. I used metal foil tape and spray foam to build and lightproof it.

Bonus, the reflective backing!

you have a walk in closet :) just make 2 walls attach em to the wall and ceiling use like 2'' x 4'' wood to make a frame and get some panda film and attach it all around your room so its light/air right and reflects well- make a zipper or flap door . or if you dont want anyone to be more suspicios of a room... in a room... in a closet.. then put up drywall on the frame( so it looks like regular wall and put a bookcase in front of the door... some batman shit.. just say you like reading woll you get dressed :) then put 2-3 holes in it for ventalation then Seil around all borders so it is absolutly air tight. then put hooks on ceiling to hang light fixture( make it adjustable ) then put a peice of drywall/something on the floor to keep the plants roots out of contact with the cold ground. unless you have carpet in your walk in closet

i like the ideas guys I think I'll try to combine them....alright heres my new idea. Partition off the back half of the walk in closet by having a front wall made out of the insulation foam and foil tape and make some inner support brace for the inside of the foam wall and in the center make a door flap and secure it with with velcro all the way around, Can I make the door flap out of mylar or is it to flimsy?(i don't know i never touched the stuff). cut some holes in the foam for ventilation fans and a DIY carbon scrubber, attach an adjustable 400hps to the ceiling. I plan on covering the inside of the foam wall with mylar but do I have to cover the other 3 walls if they are painted white anyways? Does this idea sound good to you guys, it seems pretty simple and attainable. Keep in mind the walk in closet is 8ft x 5ft 8ft high and the grow section will be 4ft x 5ft by 8ft high, leaves me some room to hang my clothes lol. security should'nt be an issue although I am renting the apartment, I live by myself and I can lock the closet if need be. Constructive criticism is welcome, thanks for all your help

I made my box out of 2x4, plywood and drywall - it is heavy as hell! But that's not really a concern for me. But i'd take DOT5262 - simple, easy and easy to take down!
