I'm planning on building a DIY drip irrigation system for 6 plants, daily watering of .5 gallons, and I could really use some advice on the things I plan on buying tomorrow. 5 Gallon reservoir that will be refilled after every other watering.
Submersible water pump, not sure how many gph needed (http://www.homedepot.ca/product/55-gph-fountain-pump/910304) - would that work?
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/1-2-in-x-10-riser-flex-pipe/972795 - Water pump/main line tubing, or is something else more recommended?
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/2-gph-compensating-dripper4-blr/972849 - Drip connectors
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/1-4-in-x-50-ft-distribution-tubing1-slv/972851 - Distribution tubing
Stakes possibly
Total cost of maybe $30-40.
Just trying to make it as simple, and as cheap as possible for now. Basically; connect main tubing to water pump, run it along the tent wall above pot level (close it off at the other end). Insert/puncture drippers into the main line, connect the distribution tubing to the drippers, run distribution tubing to pots, puncture a couple of holes in it to get a more evenly distributed watering. I won't be using a timer, just plugging the pump into the socket manually at a certain time each day, wait until I see runoff, disconnect. Am I missing anything?
