DIY colloidal silver from nickels

Ok so ive been wondering if CS made from nickel silver
would work in the place of normal CS containing 99.9% pure silver


So what am i to do but research and wonder.
Then came to the conclusion im going to try it
so i figure
i'll use my tattoo power source that i can dial down the voltage
a couple of older nickels and a plastic water bottle


im not going to be consuming the colloidal silver or the plant that is sprayed

test subject will be a

That was the best I could find with a quick google search.

Sterling silver won't work, and that's guaranteed 92.5% silver. It's gotta be pretty pure.

ya but technically im not making colloidal silver
its colloidal still
but was more a point to see if it worked
@ 10 v dc when the nickels hit the water they pulled it down to 9.6 v
they where pretty close
and the positive side turned a orangish black color
from what i read nickel is bad for you so dont use nickels to make colloidal silver
which leads me to believe that it works even though the results are not desirable to humans
it still might have enough heavy metals to hurt my plant enough to hermi is what im hoping
 
It's not about hurting or stressing your plant into a hermaphodite.
CS acts in an ethylene inhibitor tricking your plant into making male parts instead of female.
The physical stress of applying CS to the plant has nothing to do with it.

see i was under the understanding that CS was a stress forced herm like a bad nute burn
and that gebberillic acid was the hormone inducer
 
I believe Gibberillic acid is also plays on ethylene through a hormonal route?
I could be wrong on that, but I do believe I've read that somewhere.
 
ya i read that the CS attaches to the copper and tricks the plant
ive burned them with thrive alive foliar and had them herm
i dunno
the color slightly changed on the water maybe all the copper in the nickels didnt attach to all the sliver in the mix
i sprayed a amnesia auto that i chopped almost 3 weeks ago left it planted went to take it out and had some new growth i just let it keep going its kinda at a post preflower type growth just really slow but figure its ran long maybe i can get it to pop if it works yay if it doesnt
it kept me entertained for a bit atleast
