DIY carbon filter help...will it work?

so im growing in a pc and i hae put a box around my fan and a doubled layered cleaning cloth over it. there is a clit in the cloth where i plan to fill with aquarium activated carbon..will it work? and i was thinking i might hang one of thoes smelly things for ur car in it or cut it up and put it in my filter?

Very doubtfull man.... I'd say copy a real filter just down size it if you have too, or bite the bullet and buy a propper one be much more worth your time and money - STELTHY

the air flows directally thru the carbon is there any reason it wouldent work?

It may work but how effectively I don't know, its like finding a spare wheel for your car at the junk yard, it may work..............just not well! trial n error my friend - STELTHY
